This is our reference page for every eBay selling fee in the four markets our calculators cover: the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Australia. It is built for quick lookups. Find your country, find your category, and read off the rate.
Every rate here matches our calculators and was last checked on September 25, 2026. If you want the reasoning behind each fee rather than the numbers, start with Understanding eBay Seller Charges. If you want to work a sale out by hand, see how to calculate eBay fees.
eBay fees at a glance
Here is what a plain 100-unit sale (no shipping, no tax, most categories, domestic buyer) costs in each market:
| Market | Seller setup | Total fees on a 100 sale |
|---|---|---|
| United States | No Store | $14.00 |
| United States | Basic Store or higher | $13.10 |
| United Kingdom | Business seller, 12.9% category | £16.38 (including VAT) |
| United Kingdom | Private seller | £0.00 |
| Canada | No Store | C$14.00 |
| Australia | Free Selling (eligible sellers) | AU$0.00 |
| Australia | eBay Pro Starter | AU$13.70 |
The rest of this guide explains where those numbers come from.
United States fees
US fees have two parts on every sale: a final value fee (a percentage of the total amount of the sale, including shipping and sales tax) and a per-order fee of $0.40, or $0.30 when the total is $10 or less. Payment processing is included in the final value fee.
US final value fees by category
| Category | No Store | Basic, Premium or Anchor Store |
|---|---|---|
| Most categories | 13.6% up to $7,500, then 2.35% | 12.7% up to $2,500, then 2.35% |
| Books, magazines, movies and most music | 15.3% up to $7,500, then 2.35% | 15.3% up to $2,500, then 2.35% |
| Trading cards, CCGs and comic books | 13.25% up to $7,500, then 2.35% | 12.35% up to $2,500, then 2.35% |
| Coins and paper money (except bullion) | 13.25% up to $7,500, then 2.35% | 9% up to $4,000, then 2.35% |
| Guitars and basses | 6.7% up to $7,500, then 2.35% | 6.7% up to $2,500, then 2.35% |
| Women's bags and handbags | 15% of the total if $2,000 or less; 9% if more | 13% if $2,000 or less; 7% if more |
| Jewelry (except watches) | 15% of the total if $5,000 or less; 9% if more | 13% if $5,000 or less; 7% if more |
| Watches, parts and accessories | 15% up to $1,000, 6.5% to $7,500, then 3% | 12.5% up to $1,000, 4% to $5,000, then 3% |
| Athletic shoes | 8% at $150 or more (no per-order fee); 13.6% below | 7% at $150 or more (no per-order fee); 12.7% below |
| Select heavy and commercial equipment | 3% up to $15,000, then 0.5% | 2.5% up to $15,000, then 0.5% |
| NFT categories | 5% | 5% |
A Starter Store keeps the no-Store rates. Two details catch people out: handbags and jewelry apply one rate to the whole total rather than splitting it into tiers, and athletic shoes use the item price (not the total) to decide whether the $150 rate applies.

United Kingdom fees
The UK is the only one of the four markets where your fees depend on whether you sell as a private or a business seller.
UK private sellers
Private sellers pay no final value fee, per-order fee or regulatory operating fee on domestic sales. If the buyer is overseas, a 3% international fee applies. Listing upgrades, excess listings and Promoted Listings are charged separately.
UK business sellers
Business sellers pay a category-based final value fee, a per-order fee (£0.40, or £0.30 on orders of £10 or less) and a regulatory operating fee of 0.35% of the total. eBay publishes these rates excluding VAT, and 20% VAT is added, so the per-order fee is really £0.48 (or £0.36).
| UK business category | Final value fee (before VAT) |
|---|---|
| Crafts, pet supplies, event tickets and most other categories | 12.9% |
| Business, Office & Industrial | 12.5% |
| Clothes, Shoes & Accessories | 11.9% |
| Antiques, Art, Baby, Collectables, Sporting Goods, Toys & Games | 10.9% |
| Books, Cameras, Computers, Films, Mobile, Music, Sound & Vision | 9.9% |
| Vehicle Parts & Accessories | 9.5% up to £750, then 3% |
| Selected cameras, computers, phones and sound equipment | 6.9% up to £1,000, then 3% |
| Jewellery | 14.9% up to £1,000, then 4% |
| Watches | 12.9% up to £750, then 3% |
| Women's Bags & Handbags | 12.9% up to £800, then 7% |
| Eligible trainers | 11.9%, or 7% at £100 or more |
| Home, Furniture & DIY | 11.9% up to £500, then 7.9% |
| NFT categories | 5% |
International fees for business sellers (before VAT): 1.05% to the Eurozone and Northern Europe, 1.8% to the US and Canada, and 2% to all other countries. Top Rated Sellers get 10% off the final value fee, and Below Standard sellers pay an extra 6% plus VAT.
Example: a £100 business sale in a 12.9% category costs £15.48 in final value fees, £0.48 per order and £0.42 regulatory fee, for £16.38 in total. Shipped to a US buyer, add £2.16. More detail in UK private vs business seller fees, or run your own numbers in the UK calculator.
Canada fees
eBay.ca fees follow the same structure as the US, in Canadian dollars:
| Category | No Store | Basic, Premium or Anchor Store |
|---|---|---|
| Most categories | 13.6% up to C$7,500, then 2.35% | 12.7% up to C$2,500, then 2.35% |
| Books, magazines, movies and music | 15.3% up to C$7,500 | 15.3% up to C$2,500 |
| Trading cards, CCGs and comic books | 13.25% up to C$7,500 | 12.35% up to C$2,500 |
| Guitars and basses | 6.7% up to C$7,500 | 6.7% up to C$2,500 |
| Select heavy and commercial equipment | 3% up to C$15,000, then 0.5% | 2.5% up to C$15,000, then 0.5% |
| Athletic shoes | 8% at C$150 or more (no per-order fee); 13.6% below | 7% at C$150 or more; 12.7% below |
| NFT categories | 5% | 5% |
The per-order fee is C$0.40 (C$0.30 on orders of C$10 or less). Canada's international fees are low: 0.4% for buyers in the USA and 1% elsewhere. Top Rated Plus gives 10% off, and Below Standard adds 6%. Try the Canada calculator.
Australia fees
Australia works differently from the other three markets. Eligible sellers who are not on eBay Pro can use Free Selling, which has no transaction fee on domestic sales. eBay Pro sellers choose a plan, and pay a rate based on that plan and a category tier, up to AU$4,000, plus a per-order fee. Pro fees include 10% GST.
| eBay Pro plan (monthly fee) | Tier 1 | Tier 2 | Tier 3 | Tier 4 | Above AU$4,000 | Per order |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter (no monthly fee) | 13.4% | 13.4% | 13.4% | 13.4% | 2.5% | AU$0.30 |
| Basic (AU$27.45) | 8.03% | 11.44% | 12.43% | 13.09% | 2.75% | AU$0.33 |
| Featured (AU$82.45) | 7.26% | 10.34% | 11.22% | 11.77% | 2.75% | AU$0.33 |
| Anchor (AU$604.95) | 6.82% | 9.68% | 10.56% | 11.11% | 2.75% | AU$0.33 |
Tier 1 covers home appliances and technology devices; tier 2 most general categories; tier 3 vehicle parts and accessories; and tier 4 fashion, media, collectables, sporting goods and selected accessories. NFTs are 5.5%, and the Services category is a flat AU$44.
International sales cost 3% on Free Selling and 1.1% on Pro plans. The Below Standard surcharge is 5.5%, and there is no Top Rated discount in Australia. Compare the plans in Free Selling vs eBay Pro or the Australia calculator.
Fees that apply everywhere
- Fees are charged on the total the buyer pays. In every market the percentage fees apply to the item price plus shipping and tax, not just the item price.
- Promoted Listings are optional. The ad fee is your chosen rate × the total, charged only on promoted sales (plus VAT for UK sellers).
- Seller performance matters. Top Rated sellers pay less in the US, UK and Canada; Below Standard sellers pay more everywhere.
- Insertion fees and listing upgrades vary by market, Store level and format. Most small sellers stay within their free listing allowance.
